DAILY SCOOP

SwingVision Leverages iPhone Brain To Enhance Pickleball Game

The Apple Design Award-winning SwingVision app recently announced its expansion into pickleball from tennis.

Originally meant to help tennis players improve with AI analysis, SwingVision will now offer its shot tracking, stats, highlights, and line-calling technology to America's fastest growing paddle sport.

SwingVision is backed by former tennis greats Andy Roddick, Lindsay Davenport, and James Blake. How does it work? It utilizes the camera and Neural Engine on iPhones and iPads to track shots in 3D. For pickleball, this includes precise line calling to eliminate court disputes.

Per pickleball business director Josh Freedman, SwingVision claims that it "fixes problems" around arguments over line calls, lack of highlights, and performance data. The app provides game-changing assistance "from perfecting dinks to drop serves."

Key SwingVision features applicable to both tennis and now pickleball:

  • Automates statistics and line calling

  • Settles disputes with real-time line challenge replays

  • Analyzes imported videos recorded externally

  • Generates shareable TV-quality highlights

  • Identifies strengths, weaknesses and scouts opponents

  • Offers shot recommendations to maximize points

By leveraging AI and Apple device cameras for robust biometric tracking and analysis, SwingVision aims to give pickleball players an accessible, personalized "coach" to consistently upgrade their play.

If you haven’t already, check it out in your app store and try it out. It may just save a relationship or 2. 😉

NEWS STASH

43-Court Pickleball Club With Stadium Anchors New Florida Complex

Happenings: Fort Lauderdale has entered a new pickleball era with the upcoming opening of The Fort, an innovative public-private partnership and soon-to-be South Florida destination focused around pickleball. (Wait for it..)

The heart of The Fort is its world-class 43-court pickleball club featuring the first-ever pickleball stadium, along with pro training visibility, leagues, tournaments, a pro shop, locker rooms, and more.

But it transcends being just a pickleball hub. The massive facility is adjacent to a Lakehouse restaurant, 4,000 sq ft event space, golf simulators, game yard with live music, and other amenities catering to all from families to corporates.

Founded by local enthusiasts and opening in 2024( I smell monneeyy), The Fort represents a commitment to supporting charities and schools while offering unmatched pickleball facilities. It's poised to put Fort Lauderdale on the map as a premier pickleball destination.
